This is the last back catalogue show that I’ll publish. (FYI: It is called “back catalogue” because all these podcasts were published for the first time on my personal site NGdC several months ago. )
From this point forward the stuff I publish will be creating / producing / publishing new content.
What kind of new content?
Well I have several ideas of things that I would like to create, and I have one big thing that I’m currently in the process of creating.
The “ideas of things that I would like to create” list:
1. I’d like to continue to create short shows (5-10 min), like the shows from the back catalogue, but I’m thinking of adding some music to them. The way the show sounds in my head is: Me talking for a bit about something on my mind, then playing a song that goes with those thoughts. If people would like to send me some ideas for songs (podsafe music please) that would be really cool.
2. I’d like to do what I considered a medium length show (about 15-20 min) that are… I don’t want to say “interview”… that are conversations I guess with people that I know.
3. I have an iPhone 3G S show I might do some short videos from time to time. I’m an audio guy, so video sort of freaks me out, but I might dabble in it.
The thing I’m in the process of creating:
1. This year at PAB 2009 Tim Coyne did this AMAZING talk on the creative process behind his “unkempt” shows. (If you have not listened to those shows yet… than you ahve not really lived. For real. They are sooooo good. Must listen audio!) After seeing the talk I decided that I wanted to try to create a show using his process.
As of this writing I’m about half way through a the most highly produced bit of audio that I have ever created. I wrote a script, recorded the bits several times, cast friends in key “roles” in the story I was telling, and cleared permission from record labels to use certain songs.
The process is taking a very long time, but I hope that in the end I will have a damn fine bit of audio for you all to listen to.
So in the end…
I guess I just hope to keep making audio that people find compelling, and continue to develop my own “voice”.
Hope you like to listen to the podcast as much as I enjoy making it.
